Hailing from a remote village from Jammu & Kashmir (India), Sanjay Amar (born 18 February 1979) is an Indian film director, producer, and screenwriter based in Mumbai. Amar's close association with the creative field of filmmaking ranges from documentary films, animation, TV production, and finally plunging to feature films. He started his career with a series of documentary films on victims of militancy in Kashmir entitled " Halaat ke Shikaar" as writer, producer & director. The series aired on Doordarshan (Public Service Broadcaster founded by Govt. of India). In 2009, Sanjay Amar worked for Arabic Broadcast Content, a Dubai-based studio for its animation film titled, " BO Mamo" and finally debuted as a filmmaker with a live-action feature film titled "Future to Bright Hai Ji" in 2012. In 2014, he founded his production company, Amar Chand Motion Pictures, and turned producer with the film "Identity Card... Ek lifeline". In 2016, Amar joined hands with Sehgal Media to make the content-driven cinema.

Sanjay is one of India's most highly respected producers of independent films. Born in New Delhi, Sanjay lived in various cities in India before settling in Mumbai twenty-five years ago. After working in the advertising world for eighteen years representing brands as diverse as Bajaj Auto, Kelloggs, Hallmark Cards & ICICI Bank, Sanjay decided to focus exclusively on quality film content. In 2006, he was appointed CEO of BR Films. He led the film, television, post-production and vfx divisions, bringing the output of the production house to a whole new level. In a short span of four years, Sanjay produced multiple feature films with some of the biggest Bollywood stars. Two feature films were co-produced with Canada, directed by Oscar Nominee Deepa Mehta: Heaven On Earth and Cooking with Stella. Father and son teamed up again in 2015, producing the feature Hotel Salvation. Premiering at the 73 rd Venice Film Festival, the film was honored with the Grand Prix XXIIIrd "ENRICHO FULCHIGNONI" 2016 UNESCO Award. Hotel Salvation continues to screen around the world and has been recognized with over twenty awards and nominations. The film has secured theatrical distribution in over forty countries and played at as many festivals. It has been acknowledged by various critics in India as the Best Indian Film and Best Hindi Film of 2017. Sanjay produced two independent features, Mehsampur and Garbage in 2017. Both films will be doing the international festival circuit starting February 2018. One feature film is in pre-production and three in script stages to be produced in 2018. Also in development are three series for leading Digital platforms. Red Carpet Moving Pictures has launched a television commercial division and produced over 60 commercials worldwide with internationally recognized directors, from India and abroad.
