The youngest of two sons, Bret Eric Porter moved around the Southern US as a child and ended up in Oklahoma at the age of five where soccer became his way of life. By 14, after winning the men's US Nationals and being sponsored by Nike, he was on track for a career as a professional athlete, when he discovered the power of the theater and never looked back.
